Does this retain all the settings/shares and data intact? Do i need to backup?

I have this running successfully on HP N54l but wanted to update it to latest version which is 5.xx What is the safest way to go about doing this w/o losing data and settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If i upgrade to beta7, will my settings, data and packages stay or do I have to do everything all over again?

I didnt do that..How do I do it?

I cant get my N54l to take the update. I go to Control panel, DSM Update and select the beta7 pat file downloaded from this thread. I get unknown error occurs (error no 21)

I have had XPEnology installed for a while and today when i tried to logon, i am getting System is getting ready, please login later. I am DSM 4.3. Can anyone help?

Changed that setting and I do not see them hibernating. I even ejected the flash drive. I have 1 ssd and a regular HD.

I just got the N54L and have XPEnology installed natively on a usb and DSM is working perfectly fine. I set the HDD to hibernate within 10 mins of activity. How do I check if this is working or not? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I got mac to change successfully but having trouble with serial #. When i try inputting my serial # into the excel file, it tells me the cell is protected and cannot be edited. Can someone please help?

I got this working. How do I update DSM to latest 4.3 version? Thanks for this writeup.
