  1. I think is not possibile, but you can try to fix.
    Mac address and serial number are on the paper box, you need to replace broken bios chip and flash bios into new chip.
    If you download .pat file, you can open it with Winrar, into archive you can view bios file and DSM , you can extract bios file and write them into new chip via eeprom programmer.
    It works if you have some soldering skills and right tools, hot air station and eeprom programmer

    Kinda defeats the purpose.

    I have a dual 10g intel card and a 10g unifi switch. why would i want to remove it?

    Is there another way i can get the intel card working?? i have disabled all the onboard intel gigabit nics in bios, the only ones presented to xpenology are the 2 10g connections on the x520 card but im never able to find it on the network?

    Not removing, simply disabling until the installation ends
    Install without card, shutdown server, reinstall card, reboot

    After being point here from The arpl thread I’m attempting to install tcrp using the menu. I have booted into the image to be presented with a never ending “waiting on internet activation” error. And yes before anyone asks the obvious I have 3 current lan connections to this box. 1 1gb copper and 2 10gb fibers. It’s not lack of connectivity.

    thanks.

    Try to disable two of them, or remove 10Gbit card
    I had to do to install my xpenology on Gen 8 microserver

  6. Hi, i already have Gen8 with DSM 7.1-42661 Update 1 with hardware DS3622xs+, I would like to use deduplication, but only these models seems able to do deduplication

    FS-series
    FS6400, FS3600, FS3410, FS3400
    SA-series
    SA6400, SA3610, SA3600, SA3410, SA3400
    21-series
    RS4021xs+, RS3621xs+2, RS3621RPxs2

    My question is, is there some loader that support one of there models that can run on my Gen8 microserver?
    My cpu is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31220 @ 3.10GHz

    Thanks

    Are your disks SATA AHCI ? And on which controller they are attached to ? Can you please share an lspci -nnq from within TCRP ?

    Yes, there Intel ICH7

  8. Hi friends, I'm trying to install last dsm for DS3622xs+ via last TCRP into Dell Optiplex 360 with two sata disk, but disks are not recognized when I'm connecting to system.
    All steps for build loader went well, even satamap that shows 1 but it seems that disks are missing
    What o have to check?
    Thanks

  9. Hi friends, i'm experimenting a spk packages server, if you would like, put this

    http://spks.ildude.com/

    Into source package, actually there are several version of openvmtools and URbackup for broadwellnk , if you want, test them and report
    Thanks

  10. Hi, OPenvmtools seems works as expected, in normal implementation there are others kernel modules that are optional but i would like to try to add and see if are needed or not.
    I compiled lkm using synology source kernel, but there is an option in the kernel that cant be compiled as modules.
    My question is, could be possible, using redpill framework, add this option to a kernel and put this kernel with this option into pat file?
    For the modules could be use a pocopico extension framework to add specific modules into zImage
    The options are

    CONFIG_HYPERVISOR_GUEST=y
    CONFIG_SYS_HYPERVISOR=y
    CONFIG_VMWARE_VMCI_VSOCKETS=m
    CONFIG_VMWARE_BALLOON=m
    CONFIG_VMWARE_VMCI=m

    Thanks

    USB Loader is unfortunately not possible with synology VMM.
    What I don’t get is that it is possible to install XPE with the Jun loader, but as your probably know that is limited to DSM 6.2.3.

    Netboot?
