The RAID5 is totally safe for the data, this option allow you extend your volume space in more than one disk. You are going to keep 1 fail disk. The Xpenology itself can change the RAID1 to RAID5 without loss data.

Reinstalling the Power button mod you will have running again that option, but I don't know the WOL.

at the end!!! 😁😁, my N54L with DSM 6.2.1U4 it shutdown correctly from the DSM OS and reboot perfectly. After differents test I'm not sure what is exactly the real solution: or it's the U4 or the ACPI version 1.0. With 2.0 and 3.0 not works. My bios version is from 2011 too. I hope this help to other people. I've disabled the embedded NIC Port 1 control, too.

Could you share your power settings of your bios, please? Like Hannes2k says with N54L and DSM 6.2.1 the server never physically shutdown. I'm using the customized bios to get the 6 SATA ports available. Thank you

In my opinion try with DS3615xs on 6.1.7 version, not the 6.2.

I don't know sorry, but think that is the same behaviour like the installation of xpenology over the ESXi. I think that the vDSM is only available in the VMM.

Synology sigue ofreciendo actualizaciones sobre la versión 6.1.7, estar en esta version no significa estar desfasado. Si configuras de la siguiente manera las actualizaciones solo te aparecerán aquellas de desplieguen para la versión 6.1.

In my experience configurations with AMD the VMM not works, but like LolleQ says on Microserver Gen8 works well (Intel processors).
