  1. did you tried to install directly the DSM 6.2.3 pat file on the N54L? The only different with your configuration is that I have one intel nic installed on the server, but if I'm not wrong on this version your integrated nic should works because synology change the required drivers on his kernel configuration.
  2. That is unfortunately a partial dmesg but if we have to guess it's not detecting the USB stick properly. In order to grab the logs you have to log-in over serial port as all the logs are in memory and are erased after reboot. A Linux distro boot process is usually two staged: it first loads a pre-boot system into ram, does some housekeeping like mounting the main OS and loading drivers and then "overrides" the / with newly mounted disk and continues booting. In DSM that second step only happens when DSM is installed. The installer itself is running from ram so all its logs are in ram. Sorry in this case I think I cannot help, the QNAP not have serial port to be able to connect to extract the log requested
  3. Can you post the install log from /var/log of the install? Hi Thorgroup, on the /var/log not exist any install log sorry, I've checke in the USB too but not exist this file. Do you have enough with the dmesg output? do you need that I will reinstalled from the scratch the qnap with the same USB to check if the install file will be created? dmesg.out
  4. The bootloader for DS918+ DSM7 with drivers integrated works fine on QNAP hardware. I've tested the same USB on other Barametal but I received error 13 or file corrupted, but in the qnap ts453a works perfectly
  5. it's generated but thank you for the advice, I've removed it.
  6. I have ds3615 6.2.4 running on Proxmox, great job ThorGroup. I suppose that if I add the drivers *.ko in the EXT folder of the bootloader generator and I build a new image, I could use in a Baramental server, isn't it? or I'm wrong.
  7. I've installed on Debian 8 extraoficial the jq 1.5 , it's working. Thank you loomes. I've used the following: wget https://github.com/stedolan/jq/releases/download/jq-1.5/jq-linux64 chmod +x jq-linux64 mv jq-linux64 $(which jq)
  8. I have the following What could be the correct one? Thank you in advance loomes
  9. Hi, I'm trying to compile the bootloader for DS3615, I've created the redpill.ko and put on the specific folder with the correct name. But when I execute the bootloader creation I've received the following error, error about keys_unsorted.... Do you know how could I fix the problem? thank you in advance
  10. Yes, if you keep the disks order and keep the USB drive you should not have problems.
If you get messages like: synoscgi_SYNO.Core.Certificate.LetsEncrypt_1_create[5038]: certificate.cpp:957 syno-letsencrypt failed. 200 [new-req, unexpect httpcode] synoscgi_SYNO.Core.Certificate.LetsEncrypt_1_create[5038]: certificate.cpp:1359 Failed to create Let'sEncrypt certificate. [200][new-req, unexpect httpcode] Then you need to upgrade your DSM up to version 6.2 or replace execution (syno-letsencrypt) file and some changes in configuarion file: 1. Download file syno-letsencrypt (this file from DSM v6.2) link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-LgjOAU3dBtNk2WKZ1KJY88Lklf12RPp?usp=sharing 2. If not enabled SSH, please enable in settings 3. Copy downloaded file syno-letsencrypt in any folder on you NAS 4. Connect to NAS with SSH (Putty) using admin account 5. Make backup of original syno-letsencrypt (sudo cp /usr/syno/sbin/syno-letsencrypt usr/syno/sbin/syno-letsencrypt.bck) 6. Copy downloaded syno-letsencrypt file to directory /usr/syno/sbin/ (ex.: sudo cp /volume1/sharedFolder/syno-letsencrypt /usr/syno/sbin/) 7. Change attributes (sudo chmod 755 /usr/syno/sbin/syno-letsencrypt) to execute new file 8. Now change default address for syno-letsencrypt, using ssh (sudo vi /usr/syno/etc.defaults/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.default) 9. Fine string "server": "https://acme-v01.api.letsencrypt.org/directory", press i and change 01 to 02 10. Press escape, enter :wq and reboot your NAS. syno-letsencrypt
  16. if you migrate your N40L from DS3617xs to DS3615 (Bromolow) you can use PHPVirtualbox to run vms. Like Dfds says with your processor the VMM not works.
  17. Open the smb ports directly to internet like flyride says it's very very bad idea, the only that you can find is to lost all your data. If you set up the VPN with your brother all the shared folders that you have available in your NAS he will have access if you grant him rights.
  18. Thank you Seba76! The last release update of the PhpVirtualbox4dsm version 6.1.4 is working completely, currently it's fixed the problem of the USB assigment. Releases · seba76/phpvirtualbox4dsm · GitHub Release Virtualbox 6.1.4 for Synology DSM 6.2.x · seba76/virtualbox4dsm · GitHub
  19. try with only on Ram module and one disk completely empty, remove all the partitions.
  20. are you using the find.synology.com url to find the DSM? or are you checked your router dhcp to see if the xpenology is receiving IP?
  21. I have installed the mod Bios A I think, I attach a compress file with a boot disk to be able to apply it to the N54L. this is my configuration on my N54L to have working DSM TheBay_Microserver_Bios_041.rar
  22. The N54L works with DSM 6.2.3 with an intel NIC. Disable the mainboard integrated nic on the BIOS. Prepare the Boolloader 1.03b and execute the installation from the scratch, you can install by default leaving the DSM assistant download the last image from internet.
