  1. You're right. Few people know me and my work. I'll stop this sh*t.

All donations will be refunded. Thanks all who donated, once again sorry.

Maybe You or sancome or gnoboot helps, but I'm quit.

I've been there too... Some people doesn't really appreciate our effort for this community. All they want is free stuff and complain.

  2. Sorry but it is still not working for me. Again ive attached the Debug log.

The good News is that my cynergy t2 is working now

Did you try manually reloading mpt2sas driver after booting up DSM?

    gnoboot> rmmod mpt2sas
    gnoboot> insmod /lib/modules/mpt2sas.ko && dmesg | tail -n 50
    or
    gnoboot> insmod /lib/modules/mpt2sas.ko missing_delay=1000 && dmesg | tail -n 50

And post the result of 2nd command.

  3. Hello,

with 10.5 my PERC310 (8 SATA/SAS-Port Controller) doesnt work, the Volume is not showing up...with 10.4 it works great...PLS Help

I´ve created the Volume in the BIOS settings (4 SAS Drives / 1 Volume) so i dont have to create an Software-Raid in the DSM.

I'm using 9211-8i and it works (IR mode) for me on ESXi+vt-d. Are you using baremetal or vt-d? Doesn't show in DSM or doesn't detect the disk?

Have you been able to get disks conected to the 9211-8i to start from Disk1-Disk8?

Do i need to blacklist any other drivers to make sure theres no unused slots before the disks on the raid card?

Also , Will flashing IT firmware instead of IR benifit in any way?

You have to blacklist the boot image disk (ata_piix) using rmmod GRUB option.

Put the following lines in your /boot/grub/menu_alpha.lst

    kernel /zImage rmmod=ata_piix,r8169,r8169_new

To load the wireless or multimedia drivers, put the following lines in /etc/rc.local.

    #!/bin/sh
    source /etc/rc.subr
    source /.gnoboot/modules.d/03-wifi.conf
    source /.gnoboot/modules.d/05-media.conf
    SYNOLoadModules $WIFI_MOD
    SYNOLoadModules $MEDIA_MOD

If video station still doesn't work, then you have to figure it out by yourself. I don't support anything related to DSM.

  4. Hello,

I´m using it as baremetal. I don´t know in which Mode the Adapter is running. I diddnt switch anything so it runs unmodifeyd. The Volume was not shown in DSM. In 10.4 all runs fine.

    THX fpr xour help!

Boot to debug mode by editing gnoboot-alpha boot menu, send your /.gnoboot/debug.log. Can you also provide a DSM screenshoot?

    kernel /zImage debug

  5. Updated to 10.5

    Tried adding SSD cache

    Still the same problem

Try to blacklist r8169 using rmmod GRUB option.

BTW, I have tried MagicPro PCTV Dual USB adaptor on my Xpenology box with 10.5 alpha, the dongle is not recognized by video station.

Did you load the drivers in /etc/rc.local?

bump , anything new? Or any idea what shoul I try?

Try it again using 10.5, added more boot-up messages to trace your problem.

Hello, now I`m trying gnoboot-alpha-10.5 and v10.4 directly on hardware (MB GA-EP-DS4). Installed latest DSM 5.0-4458. I have some issuses with that configuration.

    1. When system boots up I have to wait about 5min to be available on the network, or unplug and plug in Lan cable. Motherboard using Realtek 8111C Chip.

    2. Unable to install Update 1 no matter if trying automatic or manual update. System loads update the saying that the file is broken.

    3. My DVB-T dongle not workig (works well on Trantor version and 4.3). This is Manta dvbtusb01 it is based on chipset It9135. As I see drivers are present in system, but Videostation not recognizes any tv card.

    Any suggestions ?

    Thanks

Try to blacklist r8169 using rmmod GRUB option. Did you load the DVB drivers in /etc/rc.local?

  6. Thanks gnoboot for your 10.5 update.

I have updated to 10.5, but unlucky, I have a SATA HD connected on the original DVDROM sata connector, and that disk couldn't be found after the upgrade, I tried both vanilla and modified version, all failed, then I switched back to 10.4 and the disk was back.

    I am using N40L.

Try to insmod pata_amd or pata_acpi.

  7. @FrankDeRyder,

It's probably DSM app related issue, my boot image is just a kernel and initramfs. It has nothing to do with the apps. For example, synozram script is broken because vendor is using PHP to calculate memory size which is missing from default installation.

    @Kybla,

Might be, try another backup method (e.g. rsync) or wait for beta release that will include a working iSCSI block backend.

  8. Hello

I would like to upgrade my n54l.

It runs now under dsm 4.2 and I would like to install dsm 5.

I downloaded gnoboot 10.4, create a bootable usb key.

I plug the key on my n54l, switch it on, select gnoboot.me.

In synology assistant my Nas appear, but it is written "configuration lost".

When I right click on it the only choice is "install".

If I double click, a web page appear, adivisng me to backup my data ,and ask me where to find the firmware.

I didn't continue the process, because I don't know if this is normal.

From what I read, it would be written "migratable".

Can someone take a few minutes to explain me if it is normal, or if I did something wrong ?

    Thanks a lot.no

Ps : sorry for my english, since it is not my mother langage.

Not sure, if you 4.2 would allow you to jump directly to 5.0. Take a backup first before you do anything as it should not be "configuration lost" if you have existing DSM installation.

  9. Thanks for helping Gnoboot, much appreciated!

I will need a bit more hand holding for this, is there a way to send dmesg on the USB key I use for booting? Whatever I tried I could not mount it to write to it and I am on a physical server so I can't copy & paste.

Can you suggest what to look for or how to slow down the trace of messages I am getting before the screen stops at the point I have snapshot'ed it so that I can see a reference to a module?

I know this motherboard works with 4.3, but I failed to spot anyone with the board reporting success on the DSM 5 alpha

Serial console and boot to debug GRUB option, use putty to capture the text messages during boot up. Though, not sure if you MB supports serial connection.

  10. Latest GNO with Intel NUC,

USB get's recognized as 2.0 still loads the xhci driver but uses the ehci driver ?

Then you either have to rmmod xhci or ehci in /etc/rc.local. Back read to know what's causing the segfaults.

  11. if i delete the partition on the hard drive, the computer didn't get stuck.

It appends on the first reboot, after uploading the .pat file.

If i don't unplugged the drive before the motherboard check the Hard drive.

If the sata mode is in IDE mode, the computer start normally ... the problem seems to be with the AHCI mode ...

A quick google resulted to this. So i think this more of hardware bug/limitation.
