  2. Hi there,

    I'm now switched from gnoboot to nanoboot and went so far quite well:-) The only thing I did not manage is my esata-port. This worked most recently with gnoboot 10.4. Under 10.5 it no longer worked. Unfortunately, now even with nanobott :sad:

    Her is my config:

    n54l with modified bios (latest version)

    2 hard drives

    Perc H310 (cross flash to LSI 9211-8i) as HBA / IT mode with 4 hard drives

    So I have currently 6 hard drives and 2 empty bays = 8 bays

    I do not use the ODD-port

    The esata port is to be used as a backup-volume, currently a hard drive is connected but not shown up as internal or external drive...

    edit the Syninfo has brought nothing except thar harddrives disappear from the LSI HBA ...

    Can any one help me? What do I have to configure where that my esata can be used as an external connection? Thank you so much!

  3. Still no luck with my PERC H310 on 10.5... But i need 10.5 for Multimedia-Support :???: And I Need my Backup-Volume :cry:

    So maybe It could also be helpfull to crossflash to an LSI 9211-8i firmware!? Someone else here with a n54l/perc h310 baremetal config?

    I have both perc h310 and n54l in baremetal under gnoboot 10.5. But they are - two different baremetal xpenologies. :smile:

    Seriously speaking I do use h310 reflashed to 8211-8i/IT. Reflash procedure was rather complex. I had to consecutively flash it to latest dell's hba fw, then to 8211/IR and only third was 8211/IT. I used three different tool-chaines (dell's one, official lsi's and lsiutil correspondingly for those three stages). Also I used two different mobos (one with dos environment and other with efi-shell). And also had to cover two pins on pci-e.

    So I do not know if you can do it inside n54l. But you can try. As for me - I decided not to buy H310 adapters any more, but only original lsi 9211 (or 9240) as I did previously for two other hardware setups. As the little price difference do not excuse the complexity of making it functional.

    So Crossflash works inside N54L :smile: Actually P18 is the actually Firmware of my new branded LSI 9211-8i :smile:

    But new Prob :sad: Now the esata-Port is detected as Internal Port and no longer as esata...and also the Drive-Ordering is not correct:

    Disks.png

    Actually Config

    esataportcfg=0x30

    internalportcfg=0xfff

    usbportcfg=0x1FC0

    Disk 1 + 2 is from the internal Bay, 3 + 4 empty Slot of the Internal Bay

    5-7 ?

    Port 8 Is from the LSI (External ODD Tray-Bay)

    Port 9 E-Sata

    Port 10-12 from the LSI (External ODD Tray-Bay)

    Port 9 should be estata and not internal...

    How cann I change This? MaxDisk=12 ?

    4 from internal Bay, Port 1-4

    8 from LSI, Port 5-12)

    2 ESATA (1 odd + 1 real esata)

    THX!

  4. Did you try manually reloading mpt2sas driver after booting up DSM?

    gnoboot> rmmod mpt2sas
    gnoboot> insmod /lib/modules/mpt2sas.ko && dmesg | tail -n 50
    or
    gnoboot> insmod /lib/modules/mpt2sas.ko missing_delay=1000 && dmesg | tail -n 50

    And post the result of 2nd command. :wink:

    No but doesnt work also...Here is the Output:

    THX fpr xour help!

    Boot to debug mode by editing gnoboot-alpha boot menu, send your /.gnoboot/debug.log. Can you also provide a DSM screenshoot?

    kernel /zImage debug

  8. Hello,

    with 10.5 my PERC310 (8 SATA/SAS-Port Controller) doesnt work, the Volume is not showing up...with 10.4 it works great...PLS Help :smile:

    I´ve created the Volume in the BIOS settings (4 SAS Drives / 1 Volume) so i dont have to create an Software-Raid in the DSM.

  9. Hello :smile:

    I Use the Dell Perc H310 (with 4xSAS Disk´s attached) on N54L without any Problem (DSM 4.3 / synoboot-3810-pre-v1.1_v4):

  10. The same problem in V4. How to solve it??

    if you reboot the system the system log show "system started counting down to reboot " but the system is run (all server are shut down expect VPN server)

    if you shutdown the system the system log show "system started counting down to shutdown " but the system is run (all server are shut down expect VPN server)

    No clue for this sorry.

    H310 > Backplane > drives

    Tried different controller (1068e) just by itself (one drive)

    Nothing

    no drives detected

    This is strange because I see this on your H300 logs

    md: Scanned 9 and added 9 devices
    md/raid1:md0: active with 4 out of 12 mirrors
    md/raid1:md1: active with 4 out of 12 mirrors

    Can you give me more informations/details of what happend when you boot and/or try to install on your H300 controller.

    Maybe mpt2sas doesn't work well with DELL PERC and need DELL driver

    I suppose the 1068e is LSI ?

    Hello,

    I use an original / unmodified DELL Perc H310. The Raid was created in the BIOS (Raid 10). Otherwise in my opinion it makes no sense, since the DSM would create a software-raid and so i would not need an hardware RAID adapter...

  11. This is an updated synoobot file which include several updates/fixes.
