  1. Can someone point me in the direction of instructions on going from a DSM 6.0.2 VM under ESXi 6.5 to DSM 6.1?

    Working DSM 6

Depends on how your drives are passed through to DSM. If they're on a RAID card then you're SOL (majority of the time), if they're on an HBA that doesnt pass SMART data, you're SOL.
  3. How are your drives mounted in your server? As in, what kind of backplane? The new loader for 6.0 doesnt have a lot of the kernel drivers or drivers in general. So if you have a RAID card or HBA card you might be SOL.
  4. Only the admin user is able to SSH. /sbin/nologin should be self explanatory; then user you're trying to SSH with is 'no login' (not allowed).
  5. CloudStation is notorious for almost doubling the size of actual data because it creates copies & tmp files when it copies.

    What was your upgrade process?

    Working DSM 6

Anyone having issues with no booting after installing .pat/DSM, check your boot sequence/boot priority and make sure the boot loader is first and not whatever you just installed DSM on.
  8. Synology Support gave me a giant middle finger when I asked about the source code for DSM 6... welp.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

This worked perfectly on ESXi 6.0, solved my issue.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

I imported the ESXi build, added a new disk, and started it. It asked me to install DSM, restarted itself, and now I'm stuck on "We've deteched that the hard drives of your current DS3615xs had been moved from a previous DS3615xs, and installing a newer DSM is required before continuing." The only options it gives me is Migration and Clean installation; tried both but still the same issue. Any solutions?
