    DSM 6.2 Loader

@jun No luck for me, tried both loaders ds3615 and ds3617. Even with serial console there is nothing past grub selection screen. Both previous versions (6.1) are working fine. Hardware: MSI N3150I Eco (Intel Celeron N3150, with two SATAIII ports), 4Gb RAM, 3Tb HDD WD Green. Also tried loader for ds918+ but there is KP after installation because board has only two SATA ports (syno_ahci_disk_led_enable error).
  2. Hi, I have managed to go through installation but on first restart after instalation there is kernel panic. I have the same crash if i try to install ds916 version (ds3615 and ds3617 are working fine). My hardware is bare-metal MSI N3150I ECO (Celeron N3150) with 4Gb of ram and 3TB HDD). Board is flashed with latest available bios. I have attached screenshot with log.
  3. All the "missing" bits are already in loaders, so anyone can "find" them and reconfigure scripts to build boot image. In the next few days I will build one for DS916+ with minimal drivers for my board (MSI N3150I ECO), and with enabled Intel P-State driver.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

Hi, I'm trying to make synology bootable image with jun's scripts from github and newly released syno source, but I'm missing compatibility util source (error while mkramdisk is trying to compile from tool directory which is empty). What is it and where can I download it.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

@jun Damn serial port! Just before trying DSM6 on bare-metal I disabled both serial ports in BIOS. Today when I get home from work, I will re-enable serial ports and try again. Btw you used last beta source code from syno and latest toolchains to recompile additional drivers ? I would like to prepare ramdisk and kernel based on DS916+, so is there anything special I need to know ? You can PM me details if you want.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

maybe you did not change the vid/pid, so the installation process can not find the synoboot partitions. I should make it clear that you need to change vid/pid BEFORE installation. PS: DS716/916 should have better compatibility with your hardware, I'll release a DS916 version later when I can test it properly. You were right, somehow I really did miss to change vid/pid. Now installation goes smooth but after restart synology complains that my disks were moved from another DS3615xs and wants to reinstall/update os.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

Hi, I tried to install on bare-metal MSI N3150I ECO ITX board (celeron N3150), but installer always fails at 58% with error "Failed to install the file. The file is probably corrupted. (13)". On same setup i have installed latest 5.2 XPEnoboot without any problems. Any insights on this problem ?

    Working DSM 6

I have managed to install on bare metal board Intel D2700MUD (http://ark.intel.com/products/56457/Intel-Desktop-Board-D2700MUD) and everything is working very well. Even managed fix problem with long boot. It seems that service hotplugd for soome reason is not starting, so we have time-out in script serv-bootup-timeout.sh. Also without hotplugd service started there is no USB devices visible in DSM. My quick fix/hack was to edit script /usr/syno/etc/rc.sysv/serv-bootup-timeout.sh and insert command "synoservicectl --start hotplugd" like this: # Increase bootup timeout from 180 to 600 when pgsql is update database time=0 synoservicectl --start hotplugd while true; do It's not a nice hack, but hey, it's working ! Now I will try to play with BTRFS and other fixes, like booting from SSD and using SSD partition as tmp storage for MySQL (MariaDB), Plex and other 3rd party apps so main HDD could enter standby, etc...
