Hi,
Normalerweise sollte das ohne Probleme klappen.
Richte erst mal den Gen8 mit einem System Deiner Wahl ein auf einer neuen HDD.
Du solltest ein Backup deiner 415+ haben.
Es kann immer schief gehen dabei (USB Stick defekt, Hardware defekte, Stromausfall usw.)
Wie es zwischen zwei echten Systemen gemacht werden muss kannst Du bei Synology nachlesen.
1. Neues System vorbereiten.
2. Neues System Herunterfahren
3. Alte Platten aus deiner 415+ ins neue schieben
4. Neues System Hochfahren und die Migration durchführen

Ich habe aktuell keinen N54L mehr.
Probier doch mal den ARPL (Automatic Red Pill Loader) von Auxillum (Google).
Auf einen frischen Stick die .img schreiben und dann ab damit in deinen Würfel.
Eventuell erst mit einer neuen HDD probieren.
Du musst dich nur durch klicken per Tastatur.
Ob es läuft kann ich Dir gerade nicht beantworten.
Ist definitiv erst mal einen Versuch wert.
Du kannst ja gerne berichten ob es direkt läuft.
Zu 1. Einige haben es laufen im Forum.
Zu 2. Wie gesagt, nur mit der Tastatur arbeiten. Dauert keine 10min.
Zu 3. Sicherheitstechnisch relevant falls irgendwelche Schwachstellen existieren.

So right know I'm moving and copying a lot of data.
As soon as I'm back working on my backups I can upload and provide a link.

Das sollte ich hinbekommen. Schon 20 Jahre in einem Elektro Beruf unterwegs. Equipment ist für fast alles vorhanden was der Elekteobereich hergibt.

Ja, die habe ich auch gesehen. Für 2.5" SATA sicherlich ausgelegt. Ob 3.5" sicher gehen (vom Mainboard aus gesehen) müsste man messen.
Entweder greife ich die Spannung im Gehäuse am Mainboard ab und bastel mir eine Platine für eine 3.5" Stromversorgung (inkl. Standby Schaltung) oder ich nutze einen selbstgebauten Adapter zwischen Mainboard und Netzteil Ausgang um nicht unnötig am Mainboard zu basteln.
Die Entscheidung bleibt nach wie vor schwierig sich für ein bestimmtes Modell zu entscheiden.
Ich konnte einen Dell Inspiron 3472 ausfindig machen. Ebenfalls mit einen J4105 bestückt.
Der Markt scheint aber allerdings im Moment keine gebrauchten her zu geben.
Da wird das Gehäuse etwas größer, aber die gesamte Bastelei fällt weg.
Ich muss mir das noch durch den Kopf gehen lassen.

Mir ist mittlerweile ein Dell Wyse 5070 Extended aufgefallen.
Da gäbe es einen pci-e Anschluss Und eventuell etwas mehr Platz innen.
Andere Überlegung ist auch die Aufnahme einfach auf das andere XPE System zu speichern. Dann brauche ich mich nicht mit Adaptern beschäftigen.
Ursprünglich suchte ich einfach nach einem "Mini-PC" mit max einer 3.5" HDD und sehr geringem Stromverbrauch als DVA1622.
8 Lizenzen würden mir eine Menge Strom einsparen.
Aktuell laufen 2 Synoboxen wegen den Lizenzen mit.
Die haben aber auch als HyperBackup vaults ihre Daseinsberechtigung, aber diese tägliche, max eine halbe Stunde, wo ein Backup läuft wäre ja nicht schlimm.
Den Rest des Tages laufen die einfach nur mit wegen den Lizenzen der SS.
Und durch den HDMI Anschluss wäre das eventuell noch Wohnzimmertauglich.
Ob man ein automatisches abmelden in der SS verhindern kann habe ich noch gar nicht geprüft.
Der Wyse wäre nicht schlecht. Da ist die Basis etwas besser als beim Standard Thin Client.
Wenn jetzt aber Adaptern,externe HDD Gehäuse und was weiß ich nicht dazu kommen "müssen" , dann ist das ganze wieder für mich persönlich kontraproduktiv.
Dann kann ich genau so gut mini ITX board in kleinem Gehäuse etwas zusammenbauen.
Günstiger wäre das nicht unbedingt, aber zusammenhängend in einem Gehäuse.
Und jetzt etwas in ein Produkt investieren, daß eventuell doch "schlechter" ist als gedacht macht das ganze nicht einfacher.

Könnte vielleicht jemand das dva1622 mit arpl loader von auxillum testen?
Wäre der Anschluss einer normalen HDD möglich?
Die Festplatte müsste nicht integriert sein. Mir geht es nur um den reinen Anschluss selbst.

Generell sollte ein Upgrade ohne Datenverlust funktionieren.
Garantieren kann das niemand.
Ein Backup sollte immer vorhanden sein.
Einige haben schon DSM7 auf dem N54L laufen. Musst mal im Forum suchen.
Stehe auch kurz vor einem Upgrade von 6.2.3 auf 7.2
Das einzige was mich noch daran hindert sind die hohen HDD Preise für ein zweites Backup.
918+ XPE tägliches Backup auf eine DS112 und davon wiederum wöchentlich auf eine DS214play. Alle Boxen sind auf 6.2.3.
Ich muss erst mal herausfinden, ob Hyperbackup kompatibel ist in beiden Richtungen bzgl. der DSM Unterschiede.
Die 918+ soll auf DSM7.2 kommen. Bevor ich aber mein Backup nicht zu 100% von der 6.2.3 Syno zurückgesichert bekomme werde ich das erst mal sein lassen.
Erst neue HDD kaufen, dann alles kopieren und dann kann der Versuch gestartet werden.

I got the same mesaage when i was enabling 2FA.
After some tries i rebooted the system and tried again.
Then it was working. I know its not DScam but it is worth a try.

Display is working with onboard VGA and HDMI. Mouse and keyboard working fine as well.
I just recognise a different language setting on the keyboard when sitting in front of the surveillance station screen.
Inside DSM the language setting is correct.
I was using ARPL from auxillum.
I didnt read all posts in here.

Ich nutze dafür den Loader von @AuxXxilium
Nach Konfiguration mit dem ARPL werden keine SATA Anschlüsse gefunden.
Nach dem booten von DSM wird die Diskstation gefunden, aber der Loader meckert schon im voraus, daß ich mindestens eine Festplatte anschließen sollte.
Auf einer (ich denke Vietnamesischen Seite) HIER wird von Nanoboot berichtet.
Anhand von Bilder habe ich es erkannt.
Wie könnte ich den SATA Map ändern, um eventuell doch noch die HDDs erkennen zu lassen?
Welche DS sollte ich auswählen? Jemand Ideen?

I know its an old post but you can try to measure the mosfets on the pcb.
The mosfets are the parts with the "u" in front. So your U34 is one mosfet. There are a couple of them.
Ive just got my hand on a defect 214play with two exploding mosfets.
After a while i was able to find spare parts with the same technical specifications.
I hope i will have enough time to get the 214play repaired (at least i hope so) when the parts arriving.
Most of the non-working boxes (dont power up) have issues with the mosfets

Try to get a cheap "Synology Remote" which was made for DSM 3 and audio station.
I would also send a mail to synology to ask if this is still supported under DSM7.
I think it's the easiest way to start with.

Maybe you have to play with thw original hdd to get it worked.
Use a clean hdd, install dsm on your synology system and try that one.

Hi, its a long time ago but I was reading similar to this a couple of years ago in this forum.
As far as I remember the synology wasn't made for newer dsm and the user installed xpenology on it.
The bootloader must be changed in the original box. You need backup via Uboot.

I need to reinstall my old xpenology system with surveillance station. On the official download servers i can only find newer .spk for DSM 6.3 or above
I could use for my two original Synology the update from the server but my lovely XPE system can't install it due to restriction in the packages.
Somebody have Surveillance station 8.2.8-6335 to share? I'm using 6.2.3-25426-U3 on all three units

All other .spk I was able to collect from the internet. Most of them from Synology directly.

Habe mir ein Asrock N3150B-ITX günstig geschossen und die DVA1622 darauf laufen.
Funktioniert alles so weit. AI und Co. habe ich nicht getestet, da uninteressant für mich.
