Trial of Nanoboot (4493) - 5.0.3.1
MarsManden replied to vtrchan's topic in DSM 5.2 and earlier (Legacy)
Have you tried a full power off/on? Don't know why this helps, but a couple have had success with it. -
You're off topic, my friend. This forum has nothing to do with Xbox.

Look to the right on http://www.xpenology.nl/standaard-installatie-dsm/ - there you'll find the options to translate the tutorial into any language you want. -

Why not simply use one command: sed -i 's/flashupdateDeb/flashupdateDeb1/' /autoupd@te.info -
After upgrade to Update 4 my 2 VMs and N54L-bare-metal all came up with another MAC address and thereby getting another IP-address from my DHCP-server. A second reboot solved it. Back to the old MAC address and thus the right IP-address.

We all have different needs. My NAS also serves as WEB-server, Media-server, FTP-server, backup-server, so it is accessed regularly - also in the night. That was the hole point - rather have this running 24/7 than a more powered desktop PC.
-
Well said - my disks never spin down. I don't get all the fuss about WOL and drive spindown/sleep. I have several disks which have been spinning 24/7 for more than 4 years, both Seagate, Samsung, WD and Hitachi disks. Never had any problems. And I want my NAS to respond immediately - I don't want to wait 20 sec or more to get access to it.

16TB max? I don't understand - as the Synology website states, that the DS3612xs is able to expand a single volume to 180TB. http://www.synology.com/en-global/produ ... w/DS3612xs Or is it limited to max 16TB in one filesystem?

[GUIDE] Nanoboot ESXi 5.5.0 Perfect Install

Thanks a 1000000 for sharing this great tutorial!! Amazing work. 1000 thumbs up!! -
I think the update procedure builds the autoupd@te.info on the fly. An update from Update level 0 is different from an update from Update level 1.

Are you sure the file doesn't appear when you have uploaded the update 2 pat-file as described?

[SOLVED] HP Proliant N40L MicroServer native support

The second Update-packs for 4458 are here: http://ukdl.synology.com/download/criti ... ck/4458-2/ And I guess the one we want for DS3612xs is this one: http://ukdl.synology.com/download/criti ... 3612xs.pat -
Hi, 1. Your problem is, that most of the loaders are 64bit based and your CPU is only 32bit. Look for Nanoboot - which also has a 32bit loader. 2. No, DSM is installed on all your harddisks - that's the nature of Synology. The thumb drive only holds the syno-bios. 3. I've upgraded from 4.3 to 5.0, but from Trantor to Gnoboot - all data/shares intact, need to setup most configs.

Have you checked the userrights on your shares? -
Have you in Xpenology set up scheduled shutdown/startup?

Big problems with gboboot 10.5 DSM 5.0-4458_Update2

VPN PPTP is working on 5.0 4458 #2 - only L2TP is not working for me. L2TP was working on 4.3 3810 #4 using trantor boot native on N54L. -

My opinion - install the 3 x 2TB disks, install DSM, but DON'T let the install process set up the volume. After the install, create a volume on the disks - now you may choose which raid you want.
-
Yeah well sorry, but the topics list is full of subjects asking exactly the same question as you. So you don't need Google - just check the topics.
-
I guess you do it the same way as all the others with a N54L. Look for all the guides here in the forum.

Big problems with gboboot 10.5 DSM 5.0-4458_Update2
MarsManden replied to Schnapps's topic in Archives
One or more of your packages are causing the problem. You need to identify which package. In my occasion it was the VPN-server, when I tried to setup L2TP. Removing that got my system to run.
