  1. copy that. So as long as the HW version is later then 10 the xpenology install will work? If I use 6.5 I assume the HW version will be later then v10 right? Thanks.
  2. ESXi uses Hardware versions to define VM compatability to host version, e.g. HWv10 is ESXi 5.5+ as it introduces new hardware tech (sata drives for example) that when run on an earlier version of esxi will not run. They also used to tie hardware versions to the vcenter platform e.g. HWv8 was 5.0/5.5 using the C# client but the newer HWv10 introduced in ESXi 5.5 was only editable by a vcenter server. Thanks for the reply. So when downloading VMware EXSI is it fine to go with Hypervison and Client version 5.5 Update 3? Thanks

  5. Hi, I would like to setup xpenology 6.0.2 using VMware on my pc. My question is 1) In regards to VMware, can this only be done using VMware EXSI or can I use VMware workstation? 2) If I can't use VMware workstation, do I have to purchase vSphere in order for this to work? I currently am running xpenology 5.2 on hyper-v. Never had any issues and am familiar with the install process on hyper-v. Thank for any help that can be provided in getting me running using VMware.
  6. I see there is a request for this to work on Hyper-V which is what I current have Xpenology 5.2 install on. Does anyone know what kind of eta there is for this to work on Hyper-V? Sorry if that has already been asked.
  7. Have you set the proper port forwarding and firewall settings? I have windows 10 and i have no problem accessing the shares on my xpenology nas or my synology nas. Posted via Xpenology.us
