  1. All upgraded successfully. Thank you for your time and patience.
  2. No offense taken. I'm capable of locating the download section of the Synology website, I've spent time navigating the various available files to download but am unable to locate the file you kindly identified.
  3. Thanks for the confirmation. One more question if I may, which PAT file do I use? Looking at my old installation for 4.2 I used the DS3612 file, but I can't seem to locate the equivalent for version 5. Use the DS3612xs pat file. All xpenology work is based mainly on that version. Thanks again, and final question.....where can I get the pat file? Looking on the Synology website I can't locate it.
  4. Thanks for the confirmation. One more question if I may, which PAT file do I use? Looking at my old installation for 4.2 I used the DS3612 file, but I can't seem to locate the equivalent for version 5.
  5. 1. Create a new USB stick with nanoboot 5.0.3.1 (you can use Rufus to write the ISO to the flash) 2. Download the latest .pat from Synology for your type of machine 3. Re-Boot from the new nanoboot USB flash 4. Select from the boot list Upgrade 5. Navigate to http//yournasip:5000 and follow the on-screen wizard but at a certain point use the MIGRATE MY FILES from the wizard. If you don't know he nas's IP address just use Synology Assistant to find it. After a successful migration, just use the update menu from DSM's Control Panel to update to Update 2 6. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Apologies if I'm asking a question that's been answered before. Can I upgrade from 4.2 using the above instructions? Having a few issues of late and really want to upgrade to a more recent version. Thanks.
  6. Sorry, may be worth for me to mention that I'm running an HPN54L with 4.2. All feedback greatly appreaciated, good or bad.
  7. Morning all. Yesterday, I was in the process of adding a new disc to the volume. Well, at the mid-way point something in the kitchen tripped the power and the server shutdown. After I re-booted it's telling me the volume has crashed Storage Manager is showing the discs but it's saying the available space is 0. Am I doomed? Thanks in advance.
