I have an Gen 10 when using the 3617 or 918 bootloader I can start the reinstall option and can connect. But when upgrading and rebooting the nas won't get online anymore. I'm using an intel Nic so that should not be the issue. Does anybody has some suggestions?

New update: I'm done to get this working and bought an DS918+. I've been using Xpenology using for years but now I'm at the point that I doen't want to investigate every update if it's working or not. Thanks for making this possible on 3rd party hardware.

Dropped by whom?  6.2.1 is the latest available and it runs on 3615 image fine.

With 1.03b I can't update further then 6.2.1-23824. I've tried 6.2-23739 update 2 but that one isn't supported. That's why I'm asking will there be an update 4 release for the 3615.

You can run DSM 6.2 on the N40L with jun's 1.03b loader, but you'll need to get a compatible intel lan card. Several forum members have had success using a HP NC360T nic. If you search the forums there are a couple of threads that would be worth checking out.

That is an workaround I saw on the forum. But my concern is that the 3615 bootloader is dropped and then 6.2 is the last version for my N40L. That's why I ask the question if the 3615 will be developed?

But I don't understand that one for now, I need to use the zImage, extra.gz and rd.gz from another image but which one?

    How to downgrade:

Replace zImage, extra.gz and rd.gz (open synology.img -> image.img with 7Zip) with the one from DS3615xs (use the opposite of what you have installed currently) so you will force a reinstall of DSM. You cannot migrate the settings, so you have to do a clean install (keeps your data). Afterwards replace the above files again with your original bootloader, for me its DS3617xs and do a fresh install again.

  6. Today I've tried to upgrade my HP N40L Microserver but the onboard nic won't work anymore.

I want to rollback to DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2.

    I've tried the following;

Flashed my USB with the latest bootloader 1.03b and starter the NAS.

The NAS is reachable but only has the recovery option, but after the recovery the nic isn't reachable again.

How can I force the install to use  DSM 6.2.1-23824, and hopefully without any data loss only config loss.

  7. - Outcome of the installation/update: UNSUCCESSFUL

    - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2

    - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs

    - Using custom extra.lzma: NO

    - Installation type: Baremetal - HP Proliant Microserver N40L

-Additional Comments: Manual reset but the onboard NIC isn't reachable anymore, had to do a reinstall.

Is your NIC an onboard device or a discrete card?

If it's onboard check your BIOS settings, some systems have WOL settings in the BIOS. If it's a discrete card sometimes they have a boot up firmware you can enter to configure various options, see if there is anything in there about WOL. Is your NIC even capable of doing WOL?

It is an onboard NIC from an HP N40L, with DSM 5.2 it was working fine and now with DSM 6.2 it won't work anymore.

My N40L has been upgraded to DSM 6.2 and went successful.

Everything is working, but when I try to use the web interface the NAS becomes unresponsive and I have to manually power off to get it working again.

Someone has a tip for me for fixing the web interface?

Officially jun has stated that his 1.02b loader doesn't support AMD, However people have had success getting it to work with various AMD boards, the HP Microservers do require disabling C1E support in the bios, not sure about other AMD boards. I have a N40L & a N54L, both of which were upgraded from 6.0.2 to 6.1.3 update 4 with jun's 1.02b loader.

That is great, can you do an upgrade to the latest DSM or do you need to reinstall it?

check this post out. I am currently running the latest update on my amd system.

This version only support 6.0.1 and nog 6.1 as the latest jun loader has, that's why I want AMD support with the latest boot loader. Now I'm stuck at 6.0.1.

  14. Is the new 6.1 alpha supported for AMD CPU's because in the older grub menu there was an separate option for AMD, i've tried to upgrade my N40L setup but no succes.

    No it's not.

When will there be AMD support?

  16. I've tried the 6.1 alpha but the server won't boot, i've checked the grub.cfg config with VID/PID/MAC/Serial and they are the same with the boot loader for 6.0. For now rollback to the older version.
