Update 8 success here, with no issues. I have XPEnology running on a Gen8 Micro and everything (apart from WoL, which i'm not bothered about) runs fine. Fans typically about 10% with no hacks. I have DSM 5.2-5644 with updates automatically installing and never have any issues with updates. I def don't have major DSM updates auto installing!
