  1. Ahh, OK The last one I spoke to in regards to his "little" M93p, had the SFF with a PCIe graphic card (1070?) added.
  2. Just out of curiosity, what PCI card did you manage to fit in your M93P Tiny? My Tiny looks like this:
  3. How did you sort it out the last time? I'm using the same config file on different clients, with the DNS pointing to my (PiHole) "local" DNS on my LAN. And the default gateway pointing to my LAN's default gateway.
  4. Well, the "idea" is not to use it as a base for a nas VM, but use it as the NAS, OS running from USB, as a payable alternative to Synology, supported on "any" type of hardware, with the option to add "any" Windows/Linux based x86 apps, and as a VM host if you want/need to run VM's. disclaimer: I have only read the BIG letters, never used it myself And I know many "Plexaholics" swear to it.
  5. Hello again, no need for namecalling untill you get more "housewarm" ....🙄 Just for you to "get wiser", Samba was never an option untill you brought it up, the correct name would be SMB/CIFS. In regards to Windows Explorer, have you ever noticed this way to map a FTP site to your Windows Explorer? ( I take it you understand Norwegian, but it looks almost the same in Swedish) In regards to Webdav, how much more secure is Synology's implementation?
  6. A rethorical question: Who said his brother is using Windows? Total Commander is just one of many multiplatform filebrowsers who support FTP etc.
  7. *If* you want to expose your NAS, you may want to add your brother as a user, with his personal login and let him access it using Diskstation (https) or FTP/FTPS/SFTP. The needed port(s) will depend on what you decide for.
  8. Some people *claims* that this can be done with Unraid.
  9. Your Plex container might not have the correct rights to read those folders, it's not really a "Plex" problem, but a user-rights problem, so a Plex .pdf manual would be of no real help
  10. I'm not sure I follow you here? In the package center, I only find Plex Media Server, but it is not as up-to-date as the version available from plex.tv, that must be manually installed. With a Plex-Pass you get PlexMediaServer-1.22.2.4282-a97b03fad-x86_64_DSM6.spk and if you dont have it: PlexMediaServer-1.22.1.4275-48e10484b-x86_64_DSM6.spk Both of them install, and runs as it is supposed to, but you must make sure the "Plex user" have correct rights to your files.
  11. How many concurrent (transcoding) streams does it support using baremetal?
  12. Are you installing Plex from the package manager, or manual install after downloading (the *correct*) version from Plex.tv?
  13. If you, like me, still love your SqueezeBox family, be warned! The latest update for Perl on your Synology/XPEnology box will "kill" the joy. Synology "warned" us a year (?) ago, that the support for LMS (Logitech Media Server), the "hub" in the Squeezebox system would be cancelled. And now, with the latest update of Perl, even the unoficcial builds of LMS stops working. If your setup allows Perl to autoupdate, your server will fail to do its job What you then must do, is to 1 - uninstall LMS 2- uninstall Perl 3- download and install old Perl 4 - make sure autoupdate for Perl is disabled 5- download and install LMS Edit: Extra advice: - backup : /volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/prefs/ - restore folder after LMS install - this will bring back Favorites & skip the "Configuration" wizard to restore settings.
  14. But why reprogram the MAC adresses?
  15. Same usecase as I have for my setup, and if I remember correct, I had the same problem the first time I set it up Was it a line to edit in the .ovpn file ? don't remember right now. Using the OpenVPN GUI/Apps on PC's and Android phone/tablet with no problem now
  16. @jose carlos If you are using DSM 6.x all drives need to be set up as AHCI. To do this, you need a modified BIOS. I prefer "TheBay" You can see some screenshots here.
  17. I can confirm that the G7 series of microservers (N36L, N40L and N54L) all work with DSM 6.2.3 update 3 (as well as the G8). But as @IG-88 say, it is not really "needed" for basic work. All of my "production" boxes are still using DSM 6.1.7 as yours.
  18. Is your USB *still* primary boot device when this happens?
  19. @MrDwight Can you fill in some more details? What is connected to OpenVPN (connect)? NAS, PC? How is your network connected? Is your N36L the OpenVPN server, or is it a client? Is the problem locally or remote? . . and so on.
  20. You could have used the 1.03b, with DSM 6.2.3. Since you come from 5.2, you will most likely run into a known problem..
  21. @Friese Sorry, but I was busy this week, but here are some screenshots from my "testbox" and it's related BIOS settings.
  22. I'm late for the party, sorry but just wanted to say: And there is where you are wrong When using a MicroSD card to boot XPE on a HP Gen8 Microserver we must use: VID 0x0424 - PID 0x4030 to "hide" it from DSM. That is the internal card reader, (located on the USB bus) So, if you want to keep esxi on the SD card, and hide it from DSM, that is the VID/PID you must "hide".
  23. But why ? I just "redid" my testbox, a N36L, using a clean install of DS3615xs, Jun's V1.03b, only changed the VID/PID/SN/mac. DSM 6.2.3 25426 automaticly downloaded and installed before getting Update 3. Running like a "star"
  24. That's the thing ... the "O41100113.ROM" is the name of an original BIOS, and there are many different versions of the modificated version. I personally use "TheBay" on all the G7's MicroServers I have been setting up, and it have never "failed me". If I have the chance tomorrow, I will do a controlled reboot, and look at the BIOS setting in one of mine, but the "OnChip IDE Type: IDE" sounds "unknown" (but again, its been a long time since the last time I set it up). Have you tried checking/replacing the eSata-Sata cabel/adapter your using ? As it sounds like a disk-timeout, sometimes caused by bad cables. Edit: "as soon as there is a write access to ata5" I'm sure that is a typo, and that you meant Sata5 ?
