Hello,
now I have directly updated from DSM 5.2 to DSM 6.2.3.25426 Update 3. without Problems. Loader is 1.03b for DS3615xs.

https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/26723-network-down-after-dsm-login/?do=findComment&comment=137953

Ok vielen Dank.
Danke Dir.

Hello,
it is possible to update vom DSM 5.2 directly to DSM 6.2.2 24922? Or must I first a intermediate step vom DSM 5.2 to 6.1.7 with the Loader 1.02b and than I boot with the Loader 1.03b and update to DSM 6.2.2 24922?
Thank you very much.

Hi,

Danke Euch.Gruß

if you can provide a pci vid and pid and its sub vid/pid we could check but if its running with 5.2 its so old i'd say its guaranteed to work with 6.2.3 (at least when using my extra.lzma with more und newer drivers), the driver would be e1000e and thats part of jun's default extra (from 2018)
just take a new/empty usb put on the loader for 6.2.3 (3615/17, needs csm/legacy if its uefi bios) shutdoen you system, remove 5.2 usb und put in the new (dont worry about usb vid/pid as long as you dont install it does not matter), boot the new usb and try to find the system in network with synology assistant, just booting the loader wo not do anything to you disks
in optimal case you will see the system and it would offer update/migration - at this point you know network is working and also storage to be working (to see the old dsm system it needs to access the disks)
with 6.x you would need ahci mode on the sata system
so i dont expect any driver problems for the nic, trouble to expect is having ahci mode and booting in csm mode when its uefi (you need to use the non-uefi usb boot device)
if you have trouble with the new loader open a new thread in area that matches
Hello,
thanks for the detailed answer. I will test it in the next few days and then install DSM 5.2 on an old disk and then upgrade to 6.2.3 as a test. I will report.

Hello Guys,
do you know if the driver for Intel i219v Networkcard now is supported for? I would like to install the last Version of DSM 6.2.3 and I come from DSM 5.2. I want to be sure that after the upgrade I will still have access to the NAS and not lose everything.
Thanks.

1. This is a major upgrade. You really, really need to have a backup of your data - even if you have to borrow drives to do it on.
2. You need to check this
to make sure that you are selecting the correct combination of bootloader and DSM version for your hardware. For 1.03b you need to be able to boot in csm/legacy mode.
3. I would check the updates thread for 6.2.3 to see if someone has reported a successful update for hardware the same or similar to yours
4. You need to do this
before booting 6.2.3 for the first time.
5.Use the tutorial as a guide.
6. Did I say backup?
7. Option 1 will do. When the new loader boots it will recognise that the version of DSM on disk is older and offer you to upgrade.
8. If you have problems, start a new thread and describe your hardware, the steps you have taken and the problem (error message) that you have.
Good Luck!
Thank you for your answer. Do you know if the driver for Intel i219v Networkcard is supported for? Which Version ist the last one that supported the Networkcard?

Hello everyone,
I would like to update from DSM 5.2 directly to DSM 6.2.3 (6.2.3-25426 Update 3) with the Loader 1.03b for a 3615XS platform. Is the procedure basically the same as described in Polanskiman's tutorial? Or do I have to pay attention to something here because a step may be different? Which lines in the boot loader I must choose? The first line oder the second for reinstall?
Many Thanks.

Thank you.

Hello, is this tutorial also possible directly for DSM 6.2 with the right loader for D3615XS? Or is there more to be done? I would like to migrate directly from DSM 5.2 to DMS 6.2.x.
Thank you.

Hi,
i want to install the virtual machine manager on my DSM 5.2 with Jun 1.02b Loader. I have download the version Virtualization-x86_64-2.3.4-9027.spk for DS3615xs model directly from the synology page.
If I try to install the package, it comes the message: This package ist not supported on platform of the diskstation.
Whats wrong? Which is the right Version and where can I download it?
Thank you.

OK thank you. DSM 6.2 nothing? 😥

Hello, which is the last guaranteed working DSM version for the Loader 1.02b? And where can I get the complete Pat File?
Thanks.

Hello Polanskiman,
is there a valid reason not to install DSM 6.1? Or is this version fully operational? Thanks.Infosucher -
Hi zusammen,
Danke Euch.

Danke nochmal an alle.
