  1. Where are the newest loader and DSM? I only see 1.01 and DSM 6.0.2
  2. First I would like to start by saying I am a bit of a noob. I am currently running DSM 5.2 on bare metal. I would like to go, at sometime, to DSM 6.(no hurry) I have read the OP instrunctions and tried to read a good portion of this thread. But 250 something pages is a little tough to get through. I am looking for guidance on a way to proceed. I currently use my box mainly for Plex. My setup is: MB: Asus P8H61-I R2.0 x4 Sata 2 LAN: Realtek 8111F Gigabit x1 Proc: I5-2320 IO Crest 4 Port Sata 3 PCI-e 2.0 Silverstone ITX case w/ 8 Hot swap bays The disks are in SHR2 single volume WD Red 3TB x8, going to start upgrading to 4TB over the next few months ($$$) Running: Deluge, Sonarr, Transmission, PMS, and a couple others. Looking at getting a separate box to run these, but nothing yet. While I know its a bad idea, I don't have a backup of my data. I can't really afford a second box or a service to put almost 10TB of data. 1. What would be the best version to go to? 2. Would a clean install or migration be better? 3. Is SHR or RAID a better choice? I assume that if I switch I would have to reformat. 4. I would like to play with DSM 6 in virtualbox. What is the process for that? 5. At some point I plan on upgrading MB and processor. Should I wait to upgrade till then? If that is a lot of questions I am sorry, I just want to be thorough. Thank you for any help.
  3. No. But if I can save an upgrade that might come in the short term, than I would like too. But if it is better to just go with the last stable release that is fine with me. It provided pretty much everything I needed. The only thing it didn't was a Plexpy spk. Trying to get that to work in a docker or manual install about sent me over the boat. But that is something for another day. Thank you.
  4. Let me see if I have this all right. In order to run on bare metal, your nic has to be supported? If you use btrfs, you have to manually mount your drives every time you boot? Am I missing anything from that? Is there any list or way of knowing what is supported? Is the install of 6 just like everything else? I am about to install xpenelogy for the first time. I have been playing with 5.2 in a vm. I like what I read about 6, but is it worth going for now or should I wait? If I wait, will the upgrade later mean I have to wipe everything? Will I be able to move to btrfs? Lot of questions, sorry. Just want to get it right the first time if I can.
  5. I couldn't find an answer to this in the forums, I may have overlooked it. But is the Syba 2 Port SATA III Mini PCI-e 2.0 Card compatible right out of the box with XPE? I am building a NAS and won't to add 2 more sata ports in the mini pcie slot that I have no other use for. The mobo is the Zotac H67ITX-C-E. It comes with a wifi card there and I have no need for it. Wanted to use the sata card there so I can get more storage.
