Thank you for the reply. Is there anything wrong with the DS3617xs boot loader? I only ask because you stated the DS1815xs. What happens if we have a Xeon CPU but select the DS916 instead of the DS3615/3617 bootloaders? I am thinking there must be something pro/cons otherwise why have choices?? -
I have been wondering as a new user why is there loader's for different DSM such as DS916, DS3615, DS3617? When should we use one over the other??

Thanks for the quick response. So I am a bit confused, Why does jun loader say it's for 6.x.x if I can't upgrade to 6.2.x? It seems to me that the loader description should say 6.1.x so we don't hose our servers?? I am just trying to understand all this as I am a new user..

It seems you are both correct. Sorry about that and the double post. In general how long does it take after a new version of DSM before we can install it? Thanks to both of you for taking the time..

Hi, Now that Synology DSM 6.2.x is out of beta how long before we get support for it? I am new to XPEnology so I am just trying to get a handle on time frame... Thank you

They don't make money on the hardware, They make a goldmine overcharging for there "under powered" hardware. QNAP is no different, It should be a crime. Maybe if they charge more in line of what it's worth people would not be looking to sidestep them.

I could not agree with you more. I would also purchase DSM for my own hardware if I could, I don't think we will ever see that unless more and more people start building there own boxes and in turn hurting Synology deep pockets. I understand why they won't offer it, The support would be a nightmare.....

I am pretty new to XPEnoogy and still feeling my way threw, I just found your add-on and and I want to say great job and thank you so much for this much needed app. I can confirm this works on my Supermicro X10SLL-F motherboard with a Intel Xeon E3-1231 v3 CPU....

I am running this on a Supermicro without any problem. You say you lost your "static IP ", How are you assigning the IP? Threw the router or hard-coding the NIC? How many NIC's are on Your box? One thought is the default gateway in DSM mite of changed, Go to control panel-> network-> network interface and click the down arrow net to each NIC till you find the one with the IP that you use, Click edit and make sure the "set as default gateway" is checked.

Hi, I am new to this forum and have a question. I own several Synology boxes and this would be the first DIY that I do. I was wondering if XPEnology will support the new DSM 6.0 when its out of beta? I want to use DSM 6.0 and the new file system. Thank you
