Hello all i was wondering if someone could please help with a little advice I am running a HP N54L with DSM 5.1-5022 Update 4 and would love to update to the latest xpenology version. What do i need to do (Load first and so on)

Hi all I upgraded to Xpenology 5.1.5022 about 3 weeks ago and all was fine until yesterday N54L would not connect ot he network then after trying a few other cables and rebooting i got her back on the net work until this after noon. The Nus disapeared again of the net work so i tried synology assistant and it did not pick up the NAS, the lights on the NIC are working but i cannot even ping the NAS. I am thinking the NIC might be stuffed. What network card if ok to use and be compatible with Xpenology and the N54L?

Hey all I have installed DSM 5.1 with no issues and is running fine however i went in this morning to enable WOL under "Hardware and Power" I selected it with a tick and hit apply but as soon as you hit apply the tick against WOL dissapears Any idea's?

Hi all I was wondering if any of you have come across any Surveillance software that will rung on a N54L running DSM 5.0, i dont want to run the Synology Surveillance as i feel it BS having to pay for licences

Hello all We have installed gno-boot DSM 5.0-4458 update 2 on my brother inlaws HP N54L and have come across a very weird/strange issue that we need help with.First off everything seems to be working well except for the sign into the NAS, main computers connected to the Network are Mac's We signed into the NAS with out admin user name and pass word and got " the account or password was incorrect" we know this was the correct one so we tried another user name and pass word that we know for fact are correct and got the same message. My bother inlaw had save a favorite in Google Chrome of the NAS index page http://192.168.1.180:5000/webman/index.cgi so he hit that and it automatically signed him in and looking at the log with the user name that was just rejected. We log off from the NAS and closed Chrome , re opened it and hit that favorite and it asked for a user name and password, we entered the Admin user name and password and hit enter and got " the account or password was incorrect" but as soon as we hit that favorite link again it pop up a new tab with us already logged in with that user name that was just rejected. We could replicate with with any of the user names set up. PLEASE HELP

Hi all I have been running a HPN54L on Xpenology ( Trantor version) installed from a USB stick as per instructions at the time, i recently went through the install process for gnoBoot to upgrade to DSM 5.0 with a new USB stick taking the old out. The install went well but i decided to go back to the earlier version so i swapped out the USB sticks to the old one and rebooted only to find i was still on DSM 5.0. Does the operating system install to the HD and you are booting from the HD? or is the OP on the memory stick and you are booting from there?

Hi all I have a HP N54L running Xpenology (Thanks to the guide on this site) version 4.2 3211, i am wondering how i go about up grading to DSM version 5.0 Is there instructions for this avilable? or Do i go through the standard DSM up in the control panel?

shteve Thank heaps mate, got it going like a beauty I have one quick question When trying to add some add-ins via the package center, it asks where you want them installed and only gives the option of the HD's not you USB drive Is this the norm? I would have preferred the OS and add-ins being running form the same drive

Hello all. I have recently purchased a HP N54L microserver and would love to install the Synology OS on it. I have come across this page and followed the instructions but got stuck. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17 At Step 6 i did as requested and booted off the USB stick and got the DOS type screen as indicated This is where i got lost, it stayed on that screen and did not come up with the Synology Assistant screen like in step 7 I was wondering if you could shed any light in this or have other instructions on how to do it?
