  1. Thanks for your reply Trantor! Great work you do by the way, can't thank you enough!
  2. I am running DSM 4.2-3211 on my HP N54L. Is there a way to update this to a safe version (apart from upgrading to 4.3 or 5.0, this installation works as a charm)?
  3. Synology posted an Heartbleed update yesterday for the 4.2 software, 4.2.3248. Is there a way to apply this update on my HP N54L with Trantor DSM 4.2.3211?
  4. I have the same issue. Is this due to an unchanged MAC-address?
  5. Thanks, I bet Darik's Boot And Nuke will do the job than!
  6. YES! Thank you very much shteve! All guides on the internet said I needed Root Squash marked as "No mapping". They were all wrong. I did need to delete the "locks" but now it works!
  7. DiskStation> cat /etc/exports /volume1/music *(rw,async,no_wdelay,no_root_squash,insecure,anonuid=0,anongid=0) /volume1/photo *(rw,async,no_wdelay,no_root_squash,insecure,anonuid=0,anongid=0) /volume1/video *(rw,async,no_wdelay,no_root_squash,insecure,anonuid=0,anongid=0) You have "root_squash", I have "no_root_squash". You have "insecure_locks", I have "insecure". The latter one for me is on purpose otherwise it seems XBMC cannot access it (following this wiki). Right now I have no access to my DS, will post the output of the command "ps |grep nfsd" later.
  8. But when you use DSM to do a complete format and reinstall, the executing DSM-files will not be deleted, because which files will be performing the format? I am also looking for a completely fresh system, I have been busy ruining mine via the console. In what way can I completely reformat the disks, including the DSM-install, and start all over again. I want to be sure ALL files from DSM are wiped from my disks.
  9. Yes, that's all settled and done. I can see the shares from the clients but cannot open them. The permissions are set correctly. What is your output of insmod /lib/modules/auth_rpcgss.ko?
  10. Well, I've updated to 4.2.3211, but still no NFS for me. I do not have a file named /etc/rc. There is a file named rc.local, is that the one I need to modify? Further, when I do this command I get the following output: DiskStation> insmod /lib/modules/auth_rpcgss.ko insmod: can't insert '/lib/modules/auth_rpcgss.ko': File exists I ain't getting any further for now. Any help appreciated!
  11. Oké, thanks! And is it just a matter of installing the new DSM-software of Gerbenz via the Synology Assistant without a chance of losing your data?
  12. That's good news shteve! Where did you find the right DS3612xs_4.2-3211_x64 files for the HP N54/40L with the right NIC-drivers for the NC107i that is in the N54L?
  13. I am still looking for people who are having NFS working on their Microserver. Or people who are also having issues with this. I am referring to my earlier post. Thanks in advance!
  14. I am having the exact same problem. The NFS-shares show up in XBMC and on my Windows machine, but they are not accessible because of rights. I set up my NAS following this wiki. When I ssh to my Apple TV with XBMC running: atv@crystalbuntu:~$ sudo showmount -e 192.168.178.9 Export list for 192.168.178.9: /volume1/video * /volume1/photo * /volume1/music * All seems well..... But when I try to access it via XBMC, the log says the following: 14:39:36 T:3008325440 ERROR: GetDirectory - Error getting nfs://192.168.178.9/volume1/video/ 14:39:36 T:3008325440 ERROR: CGUIDialogFileBrowser::GetDirectory(nfs://192.168.178.9/volume1/video/) failed 14:39:39 T:2745158464 DEBUG: NFS: Refreshing context for 192.168.178.9/volume1/video, old: 330196128, new: 330199174 14:39:39 T:2745158464 DEBUG: NFS: Using cached context. 14:39:39 T:2745158464 ERROR: Failed to open(//) opendir call failed with "Server responded: Program not available" 14:39:39 T:3008325440 ERROR: GetDirectory - Error getting nfs://192.168.178.9/volume1/video/ 14:39:39 T:3008325440 ERROR: CGUIDialogFileBrowser::GetDirectory(nfs://192.168.178.9/volume1/video/) failed 14:39:50 T:2973453120 DEBUG: Suspended the Sink 14:40:09 T:2745158464 DEBUG: Thread Jobworker 2745158464 terminating (autodelete) 14:40:40 T:2879372096 NOTICE: ES: Client from 127.0.0.1 timed out 14:41:10 T:3008325440 NOTICE: NFS is idle. But the rights should be good on the HP N54L: DiskStation> cat /etc/exports /volume1/music *(rw,async,no_wdelay,no_root_squash,insecure,anonuid=0,anongid=0) /volume1/photo *(rw,async,no_wdelay,no_root_squash,insecure,anonuid=0,anongid=0) /volume1/video *(rw,async,no_wdelay,no_root_squash,insecure,anonuid=0,anongid=0) More info: /home/atv$ dpkg --list | grep nfs ii libnfs1 1.3.0-2~ppa1~precise NFS client library (shared library) ii libnfsidmap2 0.25-1ubuntu2 NFS idmapping library ii nfs-common 1:1.2.5-3ubuntu3.1 NFS support files common to client and server DiskStation> rpcinfo -p program vers proto port service 100000 4 tcp 111 100000 3 tcp 111 100000 2 tcp 111 100000 4 udp 111 100000 3 udp 111 100000 2 udp 111 100005 1 udp 892 100005 1 tcp 892 100005 2 udp 892 100005 2 tcp 892 100005 3 udp 892 100005 3 tcp 892 100024 1 udp 52634 100024 1 tcp 47944 The services are not labelled on the DiskStation, is that a problem? Is NFS just broken on the ported DSM on an HP N54L? Are more people having this issue?
