  1. I searched the forums but could not find anything on this, so my apologies if it has been covered. I an trying to install PS3 Media Server on an XPEnology box running Trantor's 4.3-3810++ with an AMD Sempron 145 CPU. I have followed the instructions in this post (with adjustments to install JAVA 6 package from the Community Packages): http://www.bangsar.net/2014/04/23/ps3-media-server-on-synology-411j-revisited/ When I get to the mplayer part and try to configure ffmpeg, I get an error that the compiler can't be found. I have had no luck in resolving that issue. Has anyone been able to install PS3 Media Server on an XPEnology box? Thanks in advance.
  2. Thanks Burner1977. I plan to upgrade this weekend and will report back.
  3. If you backup your configuration before the upgrade, does restoring that configuration recover administrative rights, etc.?
  4. Probably a silly question, but for those of you who upgraded from Trantor's 4.3, did you leave his USB stick in the system or switch to a gnoboot stick and, if so, when in the process did you switch?
  5. Sorry to ask what is probably a basic question, but if I want to use this with Trantor's build, do I also need to use his .img file or just his .pat file?
  6. Worked for me as well. Thanks very much!!
  7. I have the exact same issue. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
  8. After I ran this scheduled task, the DSM update responds "Connection failed. Please check your internet connection." Before I ran the task, I could check for updates and download update 2, but it would not install. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
  9. In 4.2 I could use the debug tool command (syno_hibernate_debug_tool --enable 10) to track when my HDDs woke up from hibernation by looking in the /var/log/messages file. In 4.3, that tool doesn't seem to show the HDDs ever waking up, while the hibernation logs (both in the system logs accessible through the web interface and in the /var/log/scemd.log file) show the HDDs waking up at various times. Does the hibernation debug tool no longer work with 4.3? Thanks in advance.
  10. Undecided -- That motherboard and CPU combo looks like a very good value. Do all of the features (including WOL) work well with XPEnology 4.2? Also, what case and power supply did you use for your build? Thanks in advance.
  11. Do you think these instructions would work to convert the .img file into a bootable .iso file? http://www.troubleshooters.com/linux/floppy_image_on_cd.htm Thanks in advance.
  12. I am currently using the 2668++ repack (1.3a) and it generally works well for me. However, I am completely inexperienced with Linux and don't know if what I want to do is possible. I am running XPEnology on an old PC I had laying around and I would like to boot it from the CD-Rom rather than from a USB. Is there a way to burn/convert the .img file into a format that is suitable for a bootable CD-Rom? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
