for shutdown you dont need a specified software its a nativ function from synology and it works for the power up, yes wake on lan is an option ... i have to check this ... my router is a fritzbox 7270 ... i dont know how to shedule a wol on the fritzbox ... i think with the original firmware its not work ?

@Trantor: have you an answere of my question ? -> can the xpenology shutdown completely (poweroff) via task and also going on to a specified time ? like the normaly synology?

hi guys, thanks for your great response! i dont know what i want, i want a system for old harddrives ... and ide drives ... know i must clarify to buy a pc with ide and sata support with xpenology, that can be start und shutdown like the original synology .... important for me is the start und shutdown technology ... it works in xpenology? if not, i must buy a normal syno ... :/

Hi, ich finde es echt toll das sich welche hingesetzt haben und das aufgezogen haben, respekt und echt klasse! Danke! Nun zu meinem anliegen, ich nutze seit einigen Jahren Synology ... Angefangen mit einer CS407e, zur 410J bis jetzt 712+ mit DX510 ... Ich würde mir gerne einen Rechner in die Ecke stellen, den mit alten HDD's vollknallen (mind. 4-5 IDE + 4-5 SATA) Und das ding bei den IDE im JBOD/SHR laufen lassen. Nun die Fragen, hat jemand einen IDE Controller zum laufen gebracht, wenn ja welchen ... Ist das System HDD technisch begrenzt? Es setzt ja auf einem Image auf, welches thereoretisch damit rechnet nicht mehr als z.B. mit 4 HDD's bestückt zu werden ... Grüße
