I bought the HP Proliant and for now I like it ! It's really quiet and easy to install Anyways, thank you for your advices

Salut, Merci pour tes conseils tout d'abord! J'ai rallumé mon pc aujourd'hui (ce que je n'avais pas fait depuis 1 an) et il fait un boucan ! Je pense que je vais m'orienter vers ça finalement: HP Proliant Gen8 G1610t La config est sympa, petite et silencieuse. Le prix est abordable, seul hic: pas de RAID 5.

Thank you About the processor, it is the only proc I have at the moment and I won't buy an other one if this one is sufficiant However I may change the power supply as it is a big one... About the RAM, 2GB DDR2 is so expensive ahah, but I will upgrade it. Yeah RAID 1 is awesome, but really once again too expensive for me as I'd like to have at least 6-8TB...:/ Hopefully in few weeks I'll have the fiber which is GREAT May be should I just buy the HP Proliant Gen8 G1610t, which is smaller and only costs 235€ But I'm worried about the fact that it doesn't support RAID 5

Hello, I already asked this in the french section but for lack of answers I actually prefer ask here My goal is to access my movies/musics with my tv/computer from my NAS in HD, probably by installing Plex on it. I want to use transmission/uTorrent on my Nas, of course I want to access all my data through the internet if I'm on vacation (or whatever) with a good transfer rate. The use of RAID 5 would be a big plus one here ! One day I'll probably run a web site with my nas. Bonjour Oui j'entends bien que mon FAI sera le facteur bloquant, mais je voulais surtout pas être limité par mon matos ! Au vu de mon matos actuel, ai-je vraiment besoin d'investir dans un serveur HP Proliant modèle X ? Je trouve pas que les caractéristiques soient si différentes du mien, peut-être devrais-je changer le proc et rajouter 2go de ram mais à part ça ?

Idem pour le bruit, je vis en appartement, sil la machine fait du bruit (ce qu'elle faisait à l'époque de son utilisation) ce sera vraiment insupportable. Bien que la carte mère soit compatible gigabyte et RAID 5, elle ne supporte que le ddr2-sdram et jusqu'à 4go cela pose-til un souci ? Je pense ajouter de la ram aussi!

Bonjour, Encore un énième post sur : quel config dois-je choisir ? Mes buts sont d'avoir un NAS pour streamer mes films/musiques sur ma chaine et ma TV à l'aide de Plex, le tout en HD of course ! Je aussi faire tourner un site web dessus, mais plus tard Bien entendu j'aurais Transmission/uTorrent dessus. Je devrais aussi pour voir y accéder de l'extérieur assez rapidement en terme de vitesse de transfert. Je souhaiterais utiliser du RAID 5 bien entendu Le tout pour un budget avoisinant les 400€ si possible (sans HDD).
