  1. @StanG do you have serial outbut? I am on 6.2.3 (3617xs) without any issues. How you use disks in VM?
  2. Clean Install: SUCCESFULL Loader: 1.03b / DS3617xs Host: ESXi 6.7 DSM: 6.2.3-25426 Update 2 Runs out of the Box. Followed this: Notes: synoboot.vmdk as SATA 0:0 --> Set as Boot device in VM Bios other drives as SCSI 0:0, SCSI 0:1, SCSI 0:3,... as RDM on LSI Logic SAS Adaptec 8805 Raid Controller no passthrough, decided RDM is better for later Updats extra.lzma not replaced S.M.A.R.T working FixSynoBoot.sh from here:
  3. DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 2 working out of the Box with 1.03b on ESXi, but not working after replacing extra.lzma with 11.2_test: Boot on ESXi 6.7 with original 1.03b Loader (all good): The highlighted entry will be executed automatically in 0s. patching file etc/rc Hunk #1 succeeded at 184 (offset 13 lines). patching file etc/synoinfo.conf Hunk #1 FAILED at 261. 1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file etc/synoinfo.conf.rej patching file linuxrc.syno Hunk #1 FAILED at 39. 4. Unbelievably fast. Raids are working. No problems in general, but I trie to find out, why hibernation is not working. 😅
  5. Hey Folks, I'm doing some tests on ESXi right now, because my last XPEnology is years and versions (5.x) ago. With help of @flyride I got 918+ running. Now I am on a new 3617 installation, because I prefer native SAS Support. With FixSynoBoot I solved the eSATA problem. Everything looks good, create Raid and Volume, but in Seriel Console I got some errors: [ 18.415623] BUG: Bad rss-counter state mm:ffff88061eecf1c0 idx:2 val:-1 ... 6. It takes some minutes, ecause it starts now in repair mode. Have to fix or install new. Thanks for your extreme fast answers. Edit: @flyride you made my day - DiskIdxMap=1000 solved it. Next fight get Hibernation working. Maybe I have to ask in new thread.
  7. @flyride thanks for fast answer. 1) is impossible, uncommented all baremetal options. 2) I tried and it looks different, but now its 50 MB Drive at the end (please find attached my grub) @StanG I found here in the forum as solution for my mounting problem, it's possible to switch it. But I went back now. grub.cfg
  8. Hey Guys, my last XPEnology was with DSM 5.x. Now I made some tests on my ESXi 6.7 and was happy how stable it's working. I uses Juns Loader 1.04b with 918+. I add synobook.vmdk as Sata 0:0 und all other drives as RAW using SCSI Controller. /dev/syno* are all fine. Just one issue: DSM Shows 50 MB disk under Disks. I tried this script, but nothing changed, like expected because it's fresh install. Any idea what I can do, to hide this one drive? Thanks for this great community!
