  1. Thanks. I was hoping to avoid configuring applications again but I'd rather start over than run the risk of losing data.
  2. Are there any issues that would keep someone migrating from a XPEn solution to a Synology NAS?
  3. Since I was starting from scratch, I went ahead and tried with a flash drive and a usb portable hard drive. Neither worked. Kept getting errors while trying to install using the Synology Assistant. I went back to my 3.5'' HD. I would still be interested if someone was able to get a portable (2.5'' usb powered) or a flash drive to work and HOW.
  4. Hello, Current OMV user looking to try out XPEnology. I've tried to search for this topic using several different key words but the search result keeps coming back with 'too many common words used' in my search result. I realize I need a usb drive to boot to my server (using a HP microserver btw natively; no ESXi). I'm wondering if I can install the OS to a flash drive and not a mechanical hard drive. The reason I ask is to free up a bay in my NAS. I'm aware of the BIOS mod for these microservers as I've already installed it. I'd like to use all of the bays for storage and not for an OS drive. If I can, what are the requirements/recommendation for size?
