  2. I went out and bought a i3-10100 because it was reported to work on 918+ for transcoding Plex. Unfortunately i cannot get it to work at all. Steps I've done: 1. installed 918+ using the 1.04b loader and 13.3 driver file (because I have a 8125 2.5 GB nic.) Install goes off without a hitch, works perfectly. 2. I downloaded the most recent update to the i915.ko file "918plusdsm623u3i915mod2_1" 3. Extracted it, copied over an folder share then to /usr/lib/modules/. I give it the same properties as all the other .ko files (644) and changed ownership of it to root/root. 4. Rebooted, system does show the loader grub and the following screen. About 5s later the screen shuts off. And the system is not responsive at all. I am guessing the system hangs. So i reinstalled the system and instead of copying to /usr/lib/modules, I copy it to /root and then set the chmod and chown as the others. Then as I have seen others in this thread do, i used the insmod command to install it. The screen goes black and that is all she wrote, system is now locked up again. I have tried all 3 versions of the moded i915.ko file and they all result in the same crash/lock. If I put in a discreet video card, the system boots and runs normally. I can then remove the i915.ko and Xpenology works again without issue. Is the 13.3 driver set at fault here? Do i need to use an older version? I don't know how far back I would need to go to keep the rtl8125 driver.

  3. Outcome of the update: FAILED - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3617xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: ESXi VM - Notes: Installation seems fine, but than stuck at bootloader. FixSynoboot.sh (latest from feb 2021) was used. Logging in COM-port (serial) shows the following right after the grub2 bootloader menu selection: This looks to be the same as some users reported with DSM7 preview. Seems Synolgy has changed a lot in their boot-process/images/kernel in 6.2.4.
