Hi! I made a little tool which can help you to get your XPEnology up & running without installing any software. It contains (as portable versions): - Nirsoft's USB device view (helps to identify the VID & PID of your USB boot media) - V2.76 - XPEnology Serial Generator for DS3615XS, DS3617XS and DS916+ (a converted version of the HTML site) - Win32 DiskImager (to write your modified synoboot.img to your USB boot media) - V1.0 (only available in V1.4.1) - OSFMount x64 (to mount the synoboot.img and modifiy it) - V1.5 - Notepad++ (best editor for changing values inside grub.cfg) - V7.5.3 - Synology Assistant (useful tool from Synology to find your XPEnology and install DSM) - V6.2-23733 - TFTP/DHCP portable (a small TFTP, DHCP and Syslog server by Ph. Jounin) - V4.6.2 - MiniTool Partition Wizard 10 (helps assigning already formatted/written USB devices to modify existing grub.cfg) - V10.3 - SoftPerfect Network Scanner - V6.2.1 - USB Image Tool - V1.75 - New: Rufus - V3.3 In the section "Downloads" all links open corresponding websites to download the files. For beginners I added a small HowTo for bare-metal installation. You'll have to run it "As Administrator" because some of these tools (like Win32 DiskImager) need to be executed with higher rights. Если 6.2.2, то без сетевой от интел не определиться. Если ставить до 6.2.1 , то определиться должна. Начните с 6.1.7 , она вроде взлетает у всех. Ставя 5.2, вы обрекаете себя в будущем на проблемы с обновлением. Вы напишите свою конфигурацию, какая материнская плата. Проще будет найти соответствие по форуму. 5.2 версию давно оставил позади, но вот в памяти всплывает какой то баг с созданием и определением разделов..... Что то типа очерёдности установки версий, с низшей и далее по восходящей. Попытаюсь поискать на форуме. На всякий случай..... Hi @PABben, Thanks for the response, I went digging to see if I can avoid purchasing a NIC Card. I found there is a new extra.lzma file that supports some additional network drivers I plan to try this soon. running an `lspci -v` from your synology cli may help to see if you have a supported nic in the driver list. Hopefully you may be able to return your card if this works for you as well.

Xpenology doesn't need a video card at all. The monitor is only needed for setting BIOS parameters on mb.

i guess not all drivers use that functionality maybe i won't then, on 2nd thought maybe dvb drivers tend to get exotic in a nas, now days we have internet, iptv and ip/sat (network tuner) i ditched my dvb recorder 2 years ago and and i dont miss it

Hi all, Chris here, working in IT as an enterprise architect, but on the side I'm also an enthusiast and hands-on with many DYI projects. Including Xpenology... been using it for 2 years now, mostly on HP Microservers (also on top of ESXi), with SAS controllers and drives (for durability) and also on other systems for friends and family. Greatly appreciate all the work you guys do, including the contributions posted here from users! Best regards!
