This piece of kit is worth bout 700 bucks due to supply/demand right now, but I got one for 500. I was eager to put my janky Xpenology to bed, but the UI is so.... sluggish compared to my Xpenology with a 10 year old desktop processor. I'm really considering selling it and get a few bucks out of the deal. At least with my Xpenology, I can upgrade to 10 gb networking relatively cheaply. I love the Synology OS, but damn... their hardware sucks.

Hi, I removed the faulty i915 drivers from extra, you can download and test it here. hw transcoding is working but performance is low on both videostation and plex but I don't think is related to the loader. on ASRock j4205-ITX you have to unplug any monitor before using hw transcoding otherwise the system will reboot, this one might be due to /dev/dri permissions or the DP to hdmi coverter on this board. reboot/shutdown is working properly again. I recommend doing a clean install, formatting the hard drive before testing. You need to add this parameters to the line set common_args_918='...video=eDP:d video=DP-1:d video=HDMI-A-1:d video=HDMI-A-2:d' in grub.cfg.

Si aucune raison particulière et si tout marche, je ne conseille pas de mise à jour à DSM 6.2. DSM 6.1 est maintenu à jour par Synology si nécessaire (sécurité y inclus). Tous les paquets meme les dernières versions marchent. DSM 6.2 n'est pas une mise à jour mais plutôt un "upgrade" avec des fonctionnalité nouvelles. En d'autres termes à moins d'avoir besoin de nouvelles fonctionnalité restez sur DSM 6.1.7.

Il y a un mot de passe attendu, si il n'y a a pas de paramétrage particulier du fichier sudoerr (configuration de sudo), c'est en principe le mot de passe du compte (admin dans ton cas). Soit tu fais un sudo -i pour obtenir un shell avec le compte root (et si c'est autorisé), soit comme le dit evotk, su pour changer d'utilisateur et devenir root (puisqu'on indique pas l'utilisateur). Personnellement, mon compte admin est désactivé et je me logue en root via SSH avec authentification par clefs privées/publiques... totalment différent de la configuration de base. Jacques

Oui, Winscp en est capable, si tu es connecté avec les droits suffisants (en principe il faut être root pour effacer un fichier à la racine d'un système, et il me semble que la connexion en root n'est pas prévue directement sur les dernières versions de DSM, obligation de passer par admin et d'utiliser su (switch user) ou sudo). Je n'ai pas ce fichier sur ma machine, mais il semble que ce soit un fichier caché, donc avec un nom qui commence par un "." Sinon, en SSH avec Putty (en supposant que le fichier se trouve à la racine du disque (soit /), sinon il faut adapter la commande cd avec le chemin qui va bien : cd / rm -i .SynoUpgrade.tar cd : change directory (comme sous Windows), donc il faut indiquer le chemin du dossier à atteindre (ici / pour la racine du système) rm : remove (effacer un fichier), avec l'option -i pour demander confirmation avant chaque suppression .SynoUpgrade.tar : Nom du fichier à effacer (tar => Tape Archivage c'est à dire une archive de fichiers, autrefois prévue pour les bandes magnétiques, maintenant on ne l'utilise quasiment que dans des fichiers). Si les droits sont insuffisants pour effacer le fichier, il faut utiliser la commande sudo avant la commande rm (sudo rm .SynoUpgrade.tar) sudo : switch user do (exécute une commande en tant qu'un autre utilisateur) Jacques

USB legacy - Enable. CSM - Enable (PXE not used, Storage - Legacy only, Video not used Это важно) После перезагрузки, в BIOS не зайти. Поможет только перемычка ClearCMOS Power - Sport ShareMemory - 64Mb SuperIO - Disable Trysted - Disable IntelPlatformTryst - Disable Загружаться с флэшки в режиме Legacy (Выбрать в ручную не UEFI загрузчик) Почему в не UEFI? После тестов и сравнения логов с EFI и Legacy, было обнаружено что мать не правильно загружается в EFI, дисковая система начинает тормозить, в логах ошибки по RAID. Происходит рассинхронизация. Проблема в матери. Еще заметил что на встроенной сетевой карте сервак загружается минуту дольше чем на внешней Intel. И последнее предположение что транскодинг заработал после миграции с 916 на 918. Так как пробовал устанавливать на отдельный жестки начисто, в VS фризы как у всех. Скорее всего проблема в конфигах 918. А после миграции какая то часть остается от 916. Скрещивание бульдога с носорогом. Extra.lzma записывал от x01015918 на флэшку перед миграцией. После миграции папка /dev/dri появилась и VideoStation и Plex заработали. И на счет HPET, ее я ни разу не выключал. Теперь на нее думаю. Будет время свободное, выключу попробую. Это надо заново весь биос настраивать, после сброса.

ok, further info, I managed to keep 2 x 4k streams simultaneously with minimal buffering by enabling CSM / UEFI ONLY .....
