  1. No worries.. Yes, if you UNPLUG all your current drives and use a different hard drive AND USB flash drive, your existing configuration will be untouched.. You will be able to reconnect them and plug in your current flash drive and it will go back to the way it was.. Just remember to change back any BIOS changes you make (if any).. Yep, sounds like Ethernet will be the only concern..

  2. The drivers in the loader, I guess.. There are some realtec drives included in 1.04b.. Disconnect your hard disks, put a temporary hard disk in and give it a test, using a different USB drive.. CPU support is definitely a concern though.. It simply refused to work on my Ivy Bridge i7 when using ESXi.. I changed the CPU to a Haswell (i7 4785T) and it worked first time (on a new Motherboard, obviously).. 4th Gen is minimum CPU requirement..

  3. Hello All, Just to inform you that I successfully installed latest DS 6.2.1 on my DS1010+ with everything running fine so far ... even automatic updates apply and run fine after reboot of NAS. I managed to get this damn thing running and installing updates after some modifications. Not publishing this method will allow me to keep the new updates running ... maybe I'll publish them when DSM 7.0 will be out and if I successfully manage to deploy it on my DS1010+. Cheers

  5. OK, here are the first impressions: RAID10 setup with a total of 36GB (BTRFS) LACP bond 2x10G SFP constant speed of ~ 900MB/s when transferring large files from one server with 1x10G with random but concurrent access of 20 clients (each connected with 1Gbit) each client still receives a throughput of ~ 110MB/s while the overall system load remains under 10% (CPU & RAM) speed gain for heavily accessed files and folders compared to a ProLiant DL 380 G9 with 2x10G SFP and RAID10 on SAS drives due to R/W cache with 2x512GB M.2 SSDs
