XPEnology in the cloud

njoy

Question

Hey guys. I've been thinking of running XPEnology on a cloud hosted virtual machine. I have checked out several different services like Amazon AWS, onApp, etc. But it seems more rare than common to get access to boot via ISO or machine access via RDP to BIOS or such.

So after going through all the trouble of getting a machine running. I simply wonder if it's possible to update XPENology from within the running platform?

Checkout http://www.vultr.com/?ref=6930424-3B as they offer cheap (starter) VPS services where you can upload and select your own ISO as an installer.

I use it for our 'cloud' firewalls, but should be possible to use it with XPEnology too, I guess... Full KVM virtualisation... multi network (internal net when having more than one VPS in the same location) interfaces, options...

Let me know if it works

Thanks for the reply. I signed up for an account honouring your affiliate link. I love their service so far - and pricing.

I stumbled upon some problems directly as the official download URL leaves a HTTP 523 error.

http://download.xpenology.me/xpenoboot/ ... 5644.5.iso

And I can only submit a HTTP URL for download - not browse for file. Are there any secondary servers?
