  1. Enter BIOS, disable the C1e option. Set all SATA ports as ACHI
  2. I since updated my server to version XPEnoboot 5.2-5544.5 and it seems to have knocked off my USB dongle which previously worked fine. Also, I've noticed their is much more lines of code in both 'rc' files that i previously edited to get my dongle working the first time around: /etc/rc and /etc.default/rc The old code looked like this at line 310: NET_DRIVERS="dca e1000e i2c-algo-bit igb be2net ixgbe tn40xx" And we previously changed it to this at line 310 which made it work before: NET_DRIVERS="dca e1000e i2c-algo-bit igb be2net ixgbe tn40xx mii usbnet ax88179_178a r8152" But now the 'NET_DRIVERS' line is now located at line 324 now, but looks slightly different, like this: NET_DRIVERS="dca e1000e i2c-algo-bit igb be2net ixgbe ${I40E_MODULES} tn40xx ${MLX_MODULES}" The update also removed the file which we added to the /lib/modules/ directory r8152.ko I've since put that file back and also tried to add the line of code that we previously added before (line 310) but at the end of line 324 like this, but it isn't working and im not even sure if its right. NET_DRIVERS="dca e1000e i2c-algo-bit igb be2net ixgbe ${I40E_MODULES} tn40xx ${MLX_MODULES} mii usbnet ax88179_178a r8152"
  3. I agree, It would be extremely useful to everyone to be able to list our hardware in each post.
  4. I'm currently on DSM 5.2-5592 Update 4 Should I up date to DSM 5.2-5644 (28.10.15) and then DSM 5.2-5644 Update-1? Or can I go from DSM 5.2-5592 Update 4 directly to DSM 5.2-5644 Update-1? Thanks
  5. Can anyone tell me why when I connect my Netgear WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 USB dongle up to my server it seems to find the device okay, but when I use the inbuilt WI-FI menu on the server the device permanently says Wireless 1 - Searching.... The device works okay on Ubuntu, Windows 8 and Windows 10 still, it seems to be on the list of compatible Wi-Fi dongle list too. https://www.synology.com/en-us/compatib ... e=DS3615xs Any ideas?

    RT3572 issues

I'm having a similar issue with a atheros ar9271 wifi dongle (Netgear WNA1100 Wireless-N 150). Did you ever resolve this?
  7. I used this on Xpenology with the method that Trantor suggested; my USB3.0 GB dongle now works on a HP N40l Microserver.
  8. Where did you manage to find out how to add the drivers anyway, do you have a link to a tutorial?
  9. Did you ever get that to work, I've got a USB3 RTL8153 Network Adapter, im actually looking for some drivers myself. Your uploaded file doesn't exist any more.

    Thank You

Same for me, I've always used QNAP devices personally but since using XPEnology I've already started recommending Synology to family and friends as an alternative. As Xpenology goes, it may effect a few Synology sales here and there short term, but I'm pretty sure it will enhance Synology's brand and sales in the long term.
  11. I'm assuming its not necessarily the safest option in most cases to simply hit the update button on our boxes due to the type of modified software that we're using. So could someone please shed some light on the best way to update from (DSM 5.2-5565 Update 1 to DSM 5.2-5565 Update 2). I don't see an update file for 'Update 2' on XPEnology.me website, is their a reason for that? Is it safe to use the official update method which is detected by my box? Thanks . . .
  12. Nice one mate, I understand you loud and clear.. Thanks FYI: I was just expecting the installation to be similar to FreeNAS; with FreeNAS you can simply plug a USB stick in your machine and use that as your primary boot drive, regardless of whether you have your main storage disks installed or not. I made the post on the forum as I was curious as to whether that method could be used on this platform, but if you're saying this is how the genuine product behave then im fine with that. - How does it work when im installing apps, will they just take up room on my storage HDDs, along with the systems configurations etc? - Will they install across any drive I insert, or just the first ones? Thanks for your time buddy, enjoy your weekend.
  13. That's what I imagined, any ideas how to go about doing this? I was just about to stick FreeNAS back on
