    ok, maybe I should explain this a bit different. I simply want to upgrade my DS from 5.0 to 5.1. Do I have to switch the bootloader?

    Hi, is it possible to switch between those three by simply overwriting the usb stick? (after creating a backup) At the moment my N54L is running DSM 5.0-4458 Update 2 on Nanoboot. Thanks =)

    Hi, ich nutze einen TP-Link Switch und habe gnoboot 10.5 und DSM 5 update 2 installiert. Die Konfiguration ist noch Standard mit 2 GB Arbeitsspeicher. Ich schaffe beim down- und upload ca 80-105 mb pro Sekunde. Alles per gbit angebunden. Grüße Tapatalk (LG G2 d802)

    You can't customize your installation. Synology upgrade script will format any drives it finds, unless drive is already formatted according to it's standard version (i.e. /dev/md0 - root, /dev/md1 - swap, /dev/md2+ - data). Thank you for the fast reply. But one question remains: 2. Which drive is the best to install the packages on? When I want to install new Software on my NAS the DSM asks where I want to install it. i.e.: My Installation of XPEnology is corrupt and I want to have a fresh install. Do I loose all of my installed Packages?

    I have a few questions about the initial configuration and installation of XPEnology: I have four HDDs available for my N54L: 250GB 2*3TB WD Red (Raid 1) 1*1TB Backup 1. On which drive would you install your OS on? 2. Which drive is the best to install the packages on? 3. Should I install everything on the raid volumes? 4. What is the best configuration if I had to reinstall/upgrade XPEnology? Thank you in advance

    Eine ähnliche Frage habe ich auch zur Konfiguration (N54L): 1. Auf welchen Festplatten sollte man was am besten ablegen? Ich hab zur Verfügung: 1* 250GB HDD 2* WD Red 3TB (Raid 1) 1* 1TB Backup-Festplatte (fällt daher aus) Wo sollte das OS hin? Und wenn ich Packages installiere, landen diese besser auf der 250GB HDD oder auf den beiden anderen Festplatten? Mir geht es vor allem um folgendes: Wenn eine neue Version von XPEnology erscheint und mir z.B. das OS komplett flöten geht, möchte ich möglichst einfach neu installieren können. Grüße
