  1. HI all, I have a xpenology server running DSM 6.1.5-15254 on a Dell T20 barebone. I would like to move to a VM solution in order to increase his potentiality (running a VM for Home Assistant - Hass.io, another for DSM, another one for Kodi in Windows so I can use philips hue sync etc). Question is: how can I achieve it without losing data?
  2. Hi all, I have a great dell T20 running barebone xpenology with dsm 6.1 . I want to add flexibility to my configuration so I was wondering if someone can help me to understant if and how I can migrate from barebone to VM without losing data. I searched on the forum and I found only an old post from @berwhale Thank you in advance.

    DSM 6.2 Loader

HI all, I have a Dell Poweredge T20 running DSM 6.1.5-15254 since months. I want to update to 6.2 but can someone please remind me the procedure ? I've seen that the tutorials are stuck at DSM 6.1.7 and maybe I've misses some thread. Thank you in advance.
  5. Ok...but I'm using SHR and only one HDD got broken few days LATER. So does it means that this Synology solution is useless?
  6. I connect via SSH every day (for managing files with WINSCP on web home folder) and I'm the only active user (my wife don't like the server very much!). Another "strange" thing is that few days later a HDD suddently got broken without any trace (I do smart test every week and nothing was wrong). May it be related in some way?
  7. Hi all, for the second time in few months I noticed that an entire shared folder become empty without any reason. No error in the log (I receive an email and a notification for every warning or error), no error in HDD. NOTHING. This time i used the backup... but unfortunately the first time I LOST everything in another folder. Can someone please help me to understand everything? Thank you in advance
  8. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.1.4 15217 Update 5 - Loader version and model: Jun's Loader v1.02b - DS3615xs - Installation type: Baremetal (Dell T20) - Additional comments: Requires reboot
  9. I updated few days ago but didn't have the time to testo WOL, sorry.
  10. Thank you! It seems that all WD external HDD are compatible with DS 3615xs(my xpenology). So how to automatically plug in and out HDD for scheduled backup?? Inviato dal mio MI 6 utilizzando Tapatalk
  11. Uhm, sound intresting. Can you please share a tutorial or something like that? I'm a semi noob and I don't want to loose my datas
  12. Hi all, I'm an happy xpenology user (DELL T20) and till now I used to backup mu xpenology using a external 1tb hdd. I noticed that sometimes it works and sometimes it don't work (without an apparent reason) so I'm looking for a different solution. I've googled around but found nothing good enough for a lazy man like me. Do you know if exist an external hdd dock station that can allow schedules for power on/off so I can schedule backup and then switch off hdd automatically? Or If my idea is too mad can you suggest me your best practices? Thank you in advance!
  13. Thank you all for your feedbacks! Very appreciated! I think I will spend my weekend to update using jun's loader (if my wife allows me to do so!)
  14. So I think that the answer is NO. Inviato dal mio MI 6 utilizzando Tapatalk
  15. Hi all, I have a Dell T20 with a barebone installation of DMS 6. I was wondering if someone have been able to hibernate/wake a xpenology machine with the last (DSM or DSM 6.1) version avaible. I was able to do it with 5.2 but no luck with the last one. The reason behind the question is that I want to optimize energy comsumption of my home server! Thank you in advance!
