  1. Seeking trouble shooting suggestions. My box froze up last week. NFS shares were still working but interface was unresponsive. Successfully rebooted and it started RAID Scan (took 3 days). Yesterday, apps installed on the box froze up. Tried logging in and it gave a message that the hard drive was full and to reboot. SSH'd onto the box and issued shutdown command. Started back up with the same experience. Rebooted, Jun's loader booted as expected but no HD lights after loaded and no network response. Syno Assistant finds nothing. I would appreciate any suggestions.
  2. Now looks like till the 29'th. When this is back on, the first thing I'm going to do is research hosting my own mirror. Resuming thumb twiddling.
  3. I've been booting from IDE without any issues and was wondering if anyone has successfully compiled a Boot drive on a Sata with the synology data installed on sepearate partition or if it is even possible to single drive boot such a setup. I'm planning on configuring a bios level raid 1 (comprised of my previous question) and configure a SHR with matching 3TB drives. I just want to be able to allow for any of the drives in SHR to fail without any downtime. Thoughts?

  5. Thanks to this board, I have 4.2-3211 running solid on quadcore intel with 6GB ram. Has anyone had any luck installing a headless virtualbox or some other pc emulation? I'd like to utilize some of these wasted resources on getting another plex server to host content not suitable for the living room. Perhaps I won't need virtualization due to some way to run multiple instances of plex server on various IPs or something. Thanks for any insight and keep up the great work.
